WEB DESIGN

I was, and still am, utterly fascinated by website design and build. How the gobble-de-gook code of the HTML language can produce such things of beauty is beyond me but the enjoyment of combining my technical and artistic talents continues to give me great enjoyment.

Having an extensive retail background, I tend to create websites from the customer's point of view, rather than the retailer's, thus ensuring a website is an enjoyable experience for the visitor. The secret is ease of navigation around the site - if the visitor gets lost they leave.

Yes, I can do the "bells and whistles" but if the website takes too long to load the visitor will give up and go away.

All my websites are unique in that they are built from the ground up rather than using templates available in web editors.

How much does it cost to have a website built for you?

I work on an hourly rate for however long it takes depending on your requirements and wishes regarding content and graphics.

You should be aware there's a lot more to it than just building the actual website. It also requires an ISP (Internet Service Provider) connection, a full domain name or subdomain name, the creation of Description and Keyword META files (generally these are what the search engines actually hunt for) and registration with the major global search engines. All up, an average site works out to around $1500 - $2000 NZD.
